People versus machines: introducing the HIRE framework

Abstract The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the recruitment process is becoming a more common method for organisations to hire new employees. Despite this, there little consensus on whether AI should have widespread hiring process, and which contexts. In order bring clarity research findings, we propose HIRE (Human, (Artificial) Intelligence, Recruitment, Evaluation) framework with primary aim evaluating studies investigate how can be integrated into respect gauging an adequate, better, or worse substitute human recruiters. We illustrate simplicity this by conducting systematic literature review empirical assessing 22 final papers included. shows that equal better than recruiters when it comes efficiency performance. also find mostly humans improving diversity. Finally, demonstrate perception among candidates humans. Overall, conclude based evidence, utilised however, hold belief their own superiority. Our future authors adopt area allow easier comparability, ideally place outcome being equal, worse, unclear abstract.
